Images of real life locations like Emerson and Froebel High Schools, Rubin’s Confectionery, the Palace Theater, and the Miller Beach Bathhouse are intermingled with fictional locations to bring the story to life.

Original illustrations by Connecticut artist Claudia Wolf greatly enhance the story.
